Lace will be mining underground by September – DiamondCorp

The Lace diamond operation, in the Free State, would be mining underground kimberlite by September, DiamondCorp plc CEO Paul Loudon said last week.

Loudon said that the kimberlite would arise initially from a satellite pipe, just west of the main kimberlite pipe, augmenting current surface tailings repro– cessing.

The underground satellite pipe was slightly lower grade historically compared with the main pipe.
