Financial definitions
- 52 Week High
- The highest intraday price during the preceding 52 weeks.
- 52 Week Low
- The lowest intraday price during the preceding 52 weeks.
- Accumulated Depreciation
- Represents the expense related to the fixed assets still carried on the books of the company. Sometimes the term "reserve for depreciation" is used.
- Average Trading Volume (Last 10 Days)
- The average trading volume over the last 10 trading days.
- Book Value Per Share
- Represents the book value (proportioned common equity divided by outstanding shares) at the company's fiscal year end for non-U.S. corporations and at the end of the last calendar quarter for U.S. corporations.
- Cash and ST Investments
- Represents the sum of cash and short term investments.
- Common Equity
- Represents common shareholders' investment in a company.
- Dividend Per Share
- Represents the total dividends per share declared during the calendar Year for U.S. Corporations and fiscal years for Non-U.S. corporations. It includes extra dividends declared during the year.
- EPS Fully Diluted
- Represents the net income per share assuming the conversion of all convertible securities including convertible preferred stock and convertible debentures and the exercise of all outstanding stock options and warrants. It represents earnings for the 12 months ended the last calendar quarter for U.S. companies and the fiscal year for non-U.S. companies.
- LT Debt to Equity
- Calculated by dividing Long Term Debt by Common Equity and multiplying the result by 100.
- Market Cap (Total, All Common Classes)
- This is the company's market capitalization, which is the number of the company's shares outstanding multiplied by the share price. If a company has 10 million shares and the company's shares are selling for $10, the market cap is $100 million.
- Net Cash Flow – Financing
- Represents the net cash receipts and disbursements resulting from reduction and/or increase in long or short term debt, proceeds from sale of stock, stock repurchased/redeemed/retired, dividends paid and other financing activities.
- Net Cash Flow – Investing
- Represents the net cash receipts and disbursements resulting from capital expenditures, decrease/increase from investments, disposal of fixed assets, increase in other assets and other investing activities.
- Net Cash Flow – Operating Activities
- Represent the net cash receipts and disbursements resulting from the operations of the company. It is the sum of Funds from Operations, Funds From/Used for Other Operating Activities and Extraordinary Items.
- Net Income Available To Common
- Represents the net income the company uses to calculate its earnings per share. It is before extraordinary items.
- Net Sales
- Represent gross sales and other operating revenue less discounts, returns and allowances.
- Operating Income
- Represents the difference between sales and total operating expenses.
- P/E (TTM)
- Calculated by dividing Market Price (previous Friday's closing price) by Earnings Per Share - Last 12 Months
- Pretax Income
- Represents all income/loss before any federal, state or local taxes. Extraordinary items reported net of taxes are excluded.
- Price To Book
- Calculated by dividing the current Market Price by the current Book Value Per Share
- Price to Cash Flow Ratio
- Calculated by dividing Market Price (previous Friday’s closing price) by Cash Flow Per Share - Current
- Property, Plant & Equipment, Gross
- Represents tangible assets with an expected useful life of over one year which are expected to be used to produce goods for sale or for distribution of services.
- Price To Sales (TTM)
- Calculated by dividing Market Price (previous Friday’s closing price) by Sales Per Share – Last 12 Months
- Property, Plant & Equipment, Net
- Represents tangible assets with an expected useful life of over one year which are expected to be used to produce goods for sale or for distribution of services.
- Receivables (Net)
- Represent the amounts due to the company resulting from the sale of goods and services on credit to customers (after applicable reserves). These assets should reasonably be expected to be collected within a year or within the normal operating cycle of a business.
- Recent Price
- This is the Closing or Last Bid Price. It is also referred to as the Current Price. For NYSE, AMEX, and Nasdaq traded companies, the Price is the previous trade date's closing price. For companies traded on the National Quotation Bureau's "Pink Sheets", and OTC bulletin boards, it is the bid price obtained at the time the report is updated.
- Revenue Per Share
- Represents the per share amount of the company's sales or revenues.
- Shares Outstanding Average, latest FYE
- Average number of diluted weighted average shares outstanding for the latest fiscal year. The Diluted Weighted Average Shares Outstanding is the number of shares of common stock that would be outstanding if all convertible securities were converted to common stock, on average over the period.
- Shares Outstanding (Total, All Classes)
- This represents the current number of common shares outstanding. It is the difference between issued shares and treasury shares.
- Total Assets
- Represent the sum of total current assets, long term receivables, investment in unconsolidated subsidiaries, other investments, net property plant and equipment and other assets. With respect to banks, this term represents the sum of cash & due from banks, total investments, net loans, customer liability on acceptances, investment in unconsolidated subsidiaries, real estate assets, net property, plant and equipment and other assets. WIth respect to insurance companies, this term represents the sum of cash, total investments, premium balance receivables, investments in unconsolidated subsidiaries, net property, plant and equipment and other assets. With respect to other financial companies, this term represents the sum of cash & equivalents, receivables, securities inventory, custody securities, total investments, net loans, net property, plant and equipment, investments in unconsolidated subsidiaries and other assets.
- Total Debt
- Represents all interest bearing and capitalized lease obligations. It is the sum of long and short term debt.
- Total Debt to Equity
- Calculated using the following formula: (Long Term Debt + Short Term Debt & Current Portion of Long Term Debt) / Common Equity * 100.
- Total Investments
- Represent investment in securities which directly or indirectly creates a loan made by the bank.
- Total Liabilities
- Represent all short and long term obligations expected to be satisfied by the company.
- Total Liabilities & Shareholders Equity
- Represents the sum of total liabilities, minority interest, non-equity reserves, preferred stock and common equity.
- Trade Date
- The date of the previous trading day. "Recent Price" is the closing price taken from this day.
