Pulane Kingston graduated from the University of Wales with an LLB (Hons) and from the University of Nottingham with an LLM in International Law. She is an executive director and one of the founder shareholders of Sphere Holdings. She was previously an associate at White & Case (Johannesburg) and prior to that an associate partner at Edward Nathan & Friedland Inc, specialising in corporate and commercial law. She has been involved in privatisations, mergers, acquisitions, listings, restructuring and various empowerment transactions.
Paul Loudon has more than 20 years' experience in stockbroking, corporate finance and management of junior mining and exploration companies. He has been President of Battlefields Minerals Corporation of Toronto and non-executive chairman of BDI Mining Corp. He was head of Equities at Loeb Aron & Company Ltd, a London corporate finance house specialising in the mining sector, where he was responsible for raising considerable sums of equity capital for resource companies listed in the United Kingdom, Canada and Australia.
Steve West is a mechanical engineer with more than 30 years experience in the mining industry, predominantly in diamonds. He commenced his career with De Beers Consolidated Mines in Kimberly and held a number of senior positions with the Trans Hex Group Limited, including Group Marine Manager and Group Project Manager. Prior to joining DiamondCorp, Steve was Mine Manager of Gem Diamonds Limited's Cempaka diamond mine in Indonesia.
John Forrest is a CPA with more than 30 years' experience in public company administration and financial management. He commenced his career with Price Waterhouse & Co and currently acts as finance director of several public companies.
Prior to being an associate director at Sphere Holdings, Ronald held positions in Deutsche Bank and Standard Bank's investment banking divisions. Ronald's investment banking experience spans several years, during which he advised local and international companies on mergers and acquisitions, leveraged buy-outs and capital raising initiatives. Ronald also has taxation experience acquired during his tenure at the South African Revenue Services. After completing his BCom degree with Rhodes University and postgraduate qualification in accounting with University of Natal, Ronald qualified as a chartered accountant, having served his articles with PKF Inc.
Karishma qualified with a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Natal in 2002, before beginning her career as a process engineer in Xstrata Alloy's ferrochrome production facilities in Lydenburg. Having gained experience in smelting operations she took up a marginal position as a production superintendent in the Agglomeration and Pre-Reduction section of the operation, and later became technical superintendent. She entered the corporate environment when she took up a position as marketing superintendent at Xstrata's head offices in Rustenburg. During this time she commenced a Master's degree in Business Leadership (MLB) through the University of South Africa and is currently in her final year of study. After a total of four and a half years in the ferrochrome industry, she joined BHP Billiton as a commercial analyst in its coal division. Today, Karishma is a Principal for Shanduka Resources.
The Lace Project is located 20km from Kroonstad in the Free State province of South Africa. The project contains an estimated 14 million carats of diamonds in tailings and kimberlite. Additional kimberlites have also been identified on the group’s adjoining properties.
